Nick’s story has been a creative, winding road. After studying film production at USC, he spent several years creating animation. His thesis film Pandora’s Wake screened at the San Diego Comic Con Independent Film Festival. He single-handedly storyboarded and animated a variety of pilot shorts. He assisted in the creation of 113 episodes of the Webtoon-featured comic Cat Loaf Adventures, which accumulated over 300,000 subscribers and over 20 million views. Moved by the plight of the tight-knit community behind the arcade game DJMAX Technika, he took on the challenge of chronicalling the community’s rise and fall in the feature length live action documentary Touching Sound, which also screened at San Diego Comic Con and GDC. And in 2018, he was hired as animation director for the educational app company Class Dojo where he pioneered a completely new workflow which successfully reinvigorated their struggling animation programs.

After parting ways with Class Dojo due to the global pandemic, he continued doing stints in animation, particularly in assisting the creation of award-winning short film If My Voice Rang Louder Than My Skin, but found that animation was no longer the source of passion it had once been for him. In March of 2022, he decided to make his lifelong fascination with video game design into his profession, and has been loving it ever since. He currently works as a concept and texture artist at Wamba Technologies, and is directing the creation of his own independent train roguelike strategy game, Crystal Rail.

He lives in Los Angeles, CA with his 3 year old cat, Mifune, adopted during the pandemic after falling out of a car engine as a kitten.
